"Children's Champions" are Friends who have agreed to take some public action on behalf of the public goal. We believe that at least 10% of Ready, Set, Grow Friends will become Children's Champions. In fact, many Friends are already Champions by virtue of their work or public service everyday. Like Friends, Children's Champions will be recognized on the Ready, Set, Grow...CT Kids! website.
Children's Champions take action in lots of ways. We've listed some examples below, but we're sure that you'll come up with many more.
- Invite others to become Friends
- Host a meeting to talk about the needs of Connecticut's young children
- Invite Ready Rabbit to attend a meeting or event in your area
- Support local initiatives such as Discovery Communities or School Readiness Councils
- Help build public awareness about Ready, Set, Grow...CT Kids!
- Include information about Ready, Set, Grow in organziational newsletters, church bulletins, etc.
