Childrens Champion! Christine Fahey (Middletown)
Heard of the "Middletown Children's Posse"? Then you probably know the energetic and "out of the box" thinking Christine Fahey. Christine's enthusiasm and action on behalf of Middletown's youngest children demonstrates what it means to be a "Children's Champion. What she's done:
  • Created the Middletown Children's Posse
  • Invited Ready Rabbit to attend the Middletown Chamber of Commerce Expo (great exposure!),
  • Helped to recruit more than 200 Middletown Friends, ranking Middletown second in the state for Friend recruitment,
  • Invited Ready Rabbit to attend Middletown's "Week of the Young Child" legislative breakfast in April.

  • Childrens Champion! Martha Gifford (Middletown)
After signing up as a Friend, Martha quickly made plans for Ready, Set, Grow to be part of a meeting of the Middletown Kiwanis Club this Fall. We look forward to hearing more about this!

Childrens Champion! Domenique Thornton (Middletown) Mayor, City of Middletown

Middletown Mayor has gone "On the Record" in support of young children and the Ready, Set, Grow campaign. In her words:
"I am pleased to tell you that I have signed on as a Friend,[and] I testify regularly in Hartford in support of a wide range of issues facing young children and their families."

Thank you, Mayor Thornton, for using your voice in Middletown and in Hartford to better the lives of all of your young children.
